Edition 001
The hours we keep: seven days of looking closer, from the street to the edge of the dance floor.
The hours we keep.
Monday · The opening note
Somewhere between the last obligation and the first good track, the day becomes yours.
The part of the day you keep for yourself.
A room getting louder. An outfit that changes your posture. Someone saying “one more” and meaning it.
That’s where this week starts. Seven days of looking closer, from the street to the edge of the dance floor.
What makes a night worth leaving the house for?
The carousel, frame by frame
- The hours we keep.
- Before the first track.
- Stay for the feeling.
An outfit is a decision.
Tuesday · Worn out, worn well
A small detail can change the whole silhouette. Today, the camera stays close.
The bag gets there before the rest of the outfit.
That flash of orange against black is the detail I keep returning to in this frame. Nothing needs to match perfectly to belong together.
What’s the one piece you build everything else around?
The carousel, frame by frame
- An outfit is a decision.
- The detail does the work.
- What do you build around?
A portrait leaves room.
Wednesday · People in the frame
The photograph gives us a face. The person still gets to tell the story.
I like a portrait that doesn’t explain itself immediately.
A glance, a shoulder, the way someone takes up space. Enough to make you curious. Never enough to decide who they are.
If we made a portrait of you, what would you want it to get right?
The carousel, frame by frame
- A portrait leaves room.
- Looking is the beginning.
- Ask a better question.
Follow people, not postcards.
Thursday · Open routes
Japan. Mexico. Germany. Across Europe. An editorial direction built around the people who live the culture.
If TLTBE opens a new route, I want a person to lead us into it.
A maker in Japan explaining a detail we would miss. Someone in Mexico showing us the place they return to. A dancer in Germany telling us what keeps them moving. Then outward, across Europe and wherever the next conversation takes us.
This is the direction, not a claim that we’ve been everywhere.
Who would you want us to listen to first?
The carousel, frame by frame
- Follow people. Not postcards.
- Tokyo. Mexico City. Berlin.
- Who should we listen to?
The room becomes the reason.
Friday · Inside the room
Hard light. Half-seen faces. A little less conversation, a little more movement.
At some point, checking the time stops making sense.
The light catches a face for half a second. The room shifts. A track ends and nobody moves toward the door.
That’s the feeling I want these frames to hold.
What keeps you for one more track?
The carousel, frame by frame
- The room becomes the reason.
- Less to say. More to feel.
- One more track.
The spaces between.
Saturday · Field essay
A short essay about what a photograph can hold when it stops trying to explain everything.
The quiet frame belongs here too.
After a week of portraits, clothes and rooms full of light, this photograph changes the pace. One figure. A wide patch of blue. More space than explanation.
I wrote a short note about why an image like this can stay with you. “The spaces between” is this week’s field essay.
Which frame would you spend another minute with?

The carousel, frame by frame
- The spaces between.
- A place can be a feeling.
- Look again.
Keep something from this week.
Sunday · The Sunday edit
Seven days. A few photographs. One question to carry into the next room.
The orange bag. The portrait that holds something back. The blue room.
Those are the details I’m taking from this week. Yours might be different. That’s the point of leaving room.
The Sunday edit brings the photographs and the field essay into one place. A slower way to catch up.
What stayed with you?
The carousel, frame by frame
- Keep something.
- A face. A detail. A feeling.
- See you in the next room.
